Portfolio 01: Touching Autumn

FORMULATED is the Tortuga Forma journal about the rituals we create around the home, the objects that bring us joy, and the stories behind how things are made.

Portfolio 01: Touching Autumn

A Tortuga Forma commission of still-life images shot in film by Helena Goñi. The notion of time and timelessness givescontour to our lives. We are constantly bounded by time and deadlines, so we wondered what might happen if we created an open-ended time frame for documenting our world of objects and the world outside. The resulting images were shot between February and October, 2024 in Bilbao and New York City.

Helena Goñi is an artist and freelance photographer from the Basque Country, currently living in New York. https://helenagoni.com/

I surrounded myself with these objects and slipped them into my daily life. Some have traveled overseas; others have rested in the quietness of my Brooklyn apartment. - Helena Goñi
